Draw the Date
In this exercise, draw today’s date in whichever format you like
choosing colours and media that best represent the day to you. You may wish to fill the page with large bubble numbers, repeat it across the page, or write the date in the middle of the page and begin to doodle around it. You could hide the date in some large abstract form, draw some representation of how you are feeling next to it, or ‘brain dump’ some random thoughts and symbols around it. Remember to view this as a journal, not an art piece - go with your intuition and whatever feels right and true to your current emotions and thoughts.
Optional Reflective Questions:
Look at your drawing for a little while. How does it make you feel to look at it?
Why did you pick the colours/medium that you did for this drawing?
Would you consider today a significant date to you?
Does your drawing reflect how you are feeling today in any way?
Do you feel that your image is trying to communicate something to you? If so, what is it?
